Michael Jackson Court TV - Huck Says CTV Is Bad

Michael Jackson is guilty according to Court TV.  Michael Jackson hasn't been tried in a court of law yet.  But Michael Jackson has already been convicted by Court TV and other media outlets.  Court TV didn't waste any time finding another target on the heels of the Scott Peterson verdict.  You may recall the Scott Peterson murder trial that just concluded.  Scott Peterson was tried and convicted by Court TV and MSNBC long before a jury was ever selected.  Now Court TV, whose ratings are falling as fast as they're losing employees to other networks, has set their sights on convicting Michael Jackson before he receives a fair trial.  Huck says enough is enough from these two.  Huck thinks Court TV and the rest of the media are "BAD" and need to back off.  Huck believes that the networks should report the facts and stop offering opinions until after a verdict is reached by a jury.  The media should stop bringing guest on that represent opinions for the sole purpose of boosting network ratings at the expense of a person's right to a fair trial.  Send your questions and comments about this or any other issue to Ask Huck and let us know what you're thinking.

Nancy Grace is moving over to CNN before the Michael Jackson trial begins.  You have to wonder if the Michael Jackson trial is a motive for such a move by CNN.  Michael Jackson coverage will draw huge ratings.  But are these the kind of tabloid ratings Nancy Grace brings that a news organization such as CNN wants.  After I heard CNN hired Nancy Grace I lost all respect for them.  It scares me to think that CNN is turning itself into the next Court TV of unreliable and biased reporting for the sake of ratings.  Court TV has lost producers.  Catherine Crier has feelers out there looking for alternatives.  Two other Court TV personalities have been talking with other networks.  Court TV's internal staff must see the writing on the wall as they've been sending out resumes looking for other employment as well.  Lately the courts have been denying Court TV's requests for cameras in their courtrooms more often than not.

What a fitting ending this would be to a network that started out as a great idea, and then turned into a group of bottom feeding leaches.  Court TV is a network that has no integrity or moral conscience.  Anyone supporting Court TV through advertisement is as scummy as the network itself.  Consumers should make an effort not to purchase products or services offered by anyone that advertises on Court TV until they change their ways.  No one should profit at the expense of fair trials for people like Scott Peterson or Michael Jackson.

It appears that before too long the only trials the courts will be allowing Court TV to cover will be littering cases.  Which I see as a poetic justice when you consider that you'll have a garbage network like Court TV covering trials that have to do with trash.  As trash and garbage is to waste.  Court TV and trash are to garbage.  What a fitting ending this would be to a network that started out as a great idea.  That turned into a bottom feeding network that survives by denying the rights, and interfering with the freedom of individuals such as Scott Peterson and Michael Jackson.

What Court TV did during its coverage of the Scott Peterson trial, as well as it appears it intends on doing in the upcoming Michael Jackson trial, is nothing short of criminal.  Scott Peterson was primarily convicted due to the biased and one sided reporting of Court TV and Dan Abrams at MSNBC.  Dan Abrams just denied this on his show after a slanted opinion about Michael Jackson.  Networks such as Court TV and MSNBC's Dan Abrams Report slant public opinion through their coverage in a way that generates the largest ratings.  These ratings ultimately end up translating into advertising dollars for the various networks.  There is the motive behind their biased coverage of these trials.

Be honest.  How many of you would have followed the Peterson trial if Court TV was on the air saying Scott Peterson was innocent of murdering his wife Laci.  The ratings and interest would have been 20% at best.  How many would care about the Michael Jackson case if the media was out there professing his innocence?  As an example look how interest in the Kobe Bryant case disappeared when it was apparent he didn't rape Kate Faber.

But when Court TV and MSNBC started screaming at the top of their lungs that Scott Peterson murdered his young, innocent, and pregnant wife.  The ratings went through the roof.  It's no secret what motivates Court TV, MSNBC's Dan Abrams as well as some other media sources.

Whose fault is it going to be if Michael Jackson gets convicted because of people coming forward with stories for fame and fortune?  It will be networks like Court TV and MSNBC's Dan Abrams who puts these people on television to tell stories that influence public opinion, and a jury's verdict.  Court TV and MSNBC don't care if they're telling the truth, as long as it meets the minimal verification requirements, and they can boost ratings by having them on.

Where were all these people that are coming forward with their stories when these incidents allegedly happened 2, 5, 7, 9, or 11 years ago.  Why are they all of a sudden coming forward now?  You can't see the dollar signs rolling as their eye lids are blinking?  Yet these are the same people you're willing to deem as credible because networks like Court TV and MSNBC put them on for the sake of ratings.

Trust me when I tell you Court TV and MSNBC don't give a damn about the truth or whether Scott Peterson or Michael Jackson actually murdered his wife or abused a child.  The only thing they care about is the ratings which translate into dollars.

Court TV and MSNBC didn't gave a damn about Scott Peterson's right to a fair trial any more than it appears they're going to care about Michael Jackson's right to a fair trial.  In the end Michael Jackson may be convicted.  But one would hope it's because Michael Jackson is guilty.  Not because of unethical and financially driven reporting.

Again, I want to make this clear.  Michael Jackson shouldn't be found guilty because networks like Court TV and MSNBC have already decided that Michael Jackson is guilty.  Court TV and MSNBC base their opinions of people like Scott Peterson and Michael Jackson for the sake of the ratings.  Ratings that are generated through biased reporting which translates into advertising dollars.

Michael Jackson hasn't even had a jury selected.  But if you follow the coverage by Court TV and MSNBC you'd think Michael Jackson's jury was about to return a guilty verdict based on the evidence presented at the trial based on the coverage Court TV and MSNBC have provided so far.

If you want to follow a trial, learn the facts about any case, and without any sensationalism or ulterior behind the reporting.  Then follow coverage by media sources such as CBS, NBC, ABC, United Press International, or the Associated Press.  Don't base your opinion on the ratings driven and unreliable information offered by networks like Court TV or MSNBC.
