A medical examiner studying a body in a morgue was startled when the man took a shallow breath.

 

Emergency medical technicians had declared 29-year-old Larry D. Green dead almost two hours earlier, after he was hit by a car.

 

 

Medical examiner J.B. Perdue was called to the accident scene Monday but did not examine Green then. Later, he was documenting Green's injuries when he noticed the man was breathing.

 

 

"I had to look twice myself just to make sure it was there, that's how subtle it was," Perdue said.

 

 

Green, 29, was taken to Duke University Medical Center in Durham, where he was in critical condition Wednesday.

 

 

Several members of the Franklin County emergency medical service have been suspended pending an investigation, said Darnell Batton, the county attorney.

Whoa i didnt see this until now... That is sooo crazy. I wonder if there are any updates on his condition. This is really crazy!!

Its pretty creepy, and just for reassurance you can't ever be buried alive, because when you are in the morgue they inject you will a toxic substance so they can preserve you (and i have no idea how i know that and creeped out by the fact i do!)

 

But its go along with all these stories of neglect by medical staff! SCARY

What happened to the poor guy? Were they able to save him or was he too far gone already? This has gotten me interested. Hopefully he didn't die. That would be awful if those doctors didn't pay close enough attention to him and so the guy died.

cant the body do that before you die anyway??? i know the body can twitch after youve died because my friend found a dead man and he twitched even though he died like 2 hours before so is there a chance that you can still breathe like that after you die??

U can twsit, and you can still dispose of waste if ya kno what i mean, but i supose u can tell when someones breathing, and he prob checked his pulse!

No, someone wouldn't still be breathing...the only thing the body can do after it's dead is twitch...those are the relexes Hehe, I know its creepy...I dunno how anyone could work in a morgue

I don't know how anyone could either i'd be a schitzophrenic after about 10 minutes i'd be paranoid the bodies were gonna come and get me, i have to be a peeled out of a cupboard stuck there with fear Yuck!

I'm into stuff like that so I think it's AWASOME!!!

doesnt it freak you out though?? i mean they were people who were alive once and then they would be dead they would have had their life sucked out of them but then pople go poking them trying to see if they are still alive or whatever. it just freaks me out i could never touch or go near a dead body. unless of course i knew the person
