Usher

Featured Replies

Do you guys hate him or love him?

At this one other MJ forum I go to a lot (check it out) they hate usher. i dont get it. i think he is a great artist. but those people over there are stuck up that Mj will only be and no one else will ever be better than him.

not better than him per se, but that no one will ever replace him and that he will always be the greatest.

"Mj will only be and no one else will ever be better than him."

As a fan I'd have to agree. Usher is not going to be the next mj its just not in him

i dont hate usher. but he is a big copy-cat which annoys me. he needs to be more original. well i suppose hes better than justin timberfake!! grr dont get me started on him. LOL

usher is a great artist and in copying Michael it permits to young to know MJ, and it's for Mick.

Mick has always been inspired by other artists like James Brown, Jackie Wilson, Fred Astaire, and more and there's no problem.

When you're an artist you have to see and learn from the master, the perfection that's why Usher is inspired by MJ and Mick did the same when he was young, he watched "the master at work", he told that in "Moonwalk", the book

i think hes good. i like his songs and thats before his latest album. i dont really think hes trying to be like mike because his music isnt really much like mikes, its just his image a bit.

i respect him, and i like some of his songs....but i dont like how cocky he is. confidence is one thing, but he just needs a giant slice of humble pie; there are tons of talented people out there, and he isnt the center of it

All u guys like him, but I dont like him (I dont know if I hate him or not). I have watched only 1 video clip of Usher and the first time I saw him is in MJ's MSG concert.

Usher is really good. His music style isn't like MJs. The only thing is that he admires MJ like any of us. He respects him as the King of Pop too. Anyway, for his own style, he's good. He makes some nice dance songs.

By the way, has anyone got Michael's thoughts on Usher? I'm sure he likes him. He's had him as a guest in shows and I'm sure MJ would like some of Usher's dance songs. I think he encourages him and wants him to do well too. But of course, no one will replace MJ. :-o

It's better to listen to Usher only, cuz' there's something really annoying about his look and dance style, stage show...it's unoriginal and cocky

The two things that turn me off about Usher is that he copies Michael rather than get inspired by him. And his dreadful ego. He really needs to stop thinking that he's a super duper and get back down to earth. Other than that, I don't mind him.

Oh Usher did think that? When he copies all Michael's moves and dont have anything of himself? Now I do hate Usher and I do get angry when I see him on magazines all the time!

^^^ Ushers is famous solely on his body, he wouldnt be as half as famous as he is now if he never ever took off his shirt

.. His fanbase is ALL / majority females

:d/

The only things i heard from him were songs with Alicia Keys... But I think i REALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY prefer her than him !... But SHE is "The BOMB" !! :d/

But if somebody think his live performance to the Madison Square Garden Michael Show was great, tell me... because personally, I think it was a REALLY bad performance from him !... It was possible for everybody to sing like he did !!... l-)

"With every album, I try to better myself. I'm a perfectionist and with the success of my last record, I wasn't sure about where my growth should be - as a performer, as a vocalist." :) Doesn't that sound familiar? If he really is a perfectionist then he'd try to come up with his own style!

I think Usher is a talented artist. He can sing, he can dance and he just knows how to market himself well.

I've seen lots of interviews with Usher. And in almost all of them he mentions Michael at least once. He once said "Everything I am today is because of Michael." MJ is like Usher's idol.

I think it's ok that Usher trys to emulate him, because he wants to be like his idol..he admires him, and there's nothing wrong with that.

BUT on the other hand, I also think that Usher needs to develop his own style a bit more instead of tryin to be like MJ all the time. He just seems to think "Ok, if Michael had alot of success doin all this stuff, then I'll just do the same things and get success for myself."

So I don't particularly hate Usher or love him. His music's alright, danceable songs etc etc...but he's not gunna be the next MJ. There IS no next MJ. He's one of a kind.

^...yes, very nicely put mjthriller. I do like Usher, but that ego of his, man, its such a turn off. When he dances, its like, all I see is this "look at me, I know I'm hot" and that kinda ish, which is not cool at all. When Michael dances (of course I have to compare...) you don't see his ego, you see his dance as expression, not advertisement.

although...those GP's sure do a number... :)

:) Lay off, girl. He mine. :) I meant Michael Jackson, BTW. :)
