they asked Michael if he could come down to do a concert last year and he did!!!!

whoa...really? i didnt hear anything about that...i thought his last concert was the charity one...for 9/11

Most definitely. Don't think he would perform at some random football game, especially in 2004.

Actually, upon further investigation Michael DID perform a charity concert in Exeter. However, it was in June of 2002, not 2004. It seems as though he didn't sing but instead just made a speech.

From Exeter With Love

 

Michael arrived in Exeter at 3:30 pm. Straight away he got into a white limousine and went to a hotel.

 

The benefit at the stadium started at 5:30 pm and Michael arrived around 6:30 pm. He entered the stadium at one end in an old fashioned open top car. The car drove into the centre of the stadium. To mass applause and cheering Michael then stepped out of the car and ran towards one corner of the stadium with a large group of people running behind him. He was wearing a long black jacket that had white embroidery around the shoulders. The jacket was done fully up.

 

Michael then gave a speech that lasted around ten minutes in which he spoke about children and aids. He also asked the 10,000 peopled audience to hold the hand to the person next to them and say, "I love you". He got them to do this twice and the audience participated willingly.

 

After his speech along with the rest of the crowd Michael watched in amazement as magician extraordinaire, David Blaine, performed one of his many great magic tricks. Once finished Michael got back into the car and drove around the side of the pitch waving at the crowd. Inside the car children accompanied Michael.

 

Many fans started to make their way onto the pitch, however Michael was leaving the stadium in the car by this time.

 

At 8:00 pm Michael departed Exeter on the train that he had come on, along with Uri Geller, David Blaine and the 200 fans that were lucky enough to get a ticket for the special train journey.
