paul mccartney vs MJ?

Featured Replies

Why is Paul Mccartney sour about Michael buying the beatles songs?

I think paul should get over it because if he really wanted to the songs he would of paid more. HE didnt want to pay much for them and Michael did. So Michael Bought them fair and square so Paul should quit whining about it.

LOL

reminds me a bit of elton john

why does it remind you of him? i thought elton john and michael were friends?

yea, silly paul. but i think if someone bought mikes songs he wud b pissed off as well. but mike would never let that happen. LOL

thats how i feel, LOL.

Paul needs to quit being jealous already now. Sheesh. :D

well i can see why paul is alittle angry i mean if i made those songs i would want them back. But thats just me. don't get mad at my :/

I think If I wrote songs and Michael wanted to sing them I would give them to him straight away. I think that Michael would get them "out there". I mean how would you feel if MICHAEL JACKSON, the greatest entertainer that ever lived, loved your song soooooo much that he wanted to sing it. Personally I'd be in heaven. But that's just my opinion. So I can't understand why Paul would be so upset about this.

Michael didn't want to sing the beatles songs he just wanted to own them. and he does now and has for a long time the beatles catalogue.

It's business thats how it goes, you have money you have power, Mike wanted the beatles catalogue so he went after them, Ultimately Michael put up more money than Paul did for the songs so he owns them now.

The reason why Paul was/is mad is because it was HIS songs, and Michael and Paul were friends. Paul didn't have the money like MJ did during thriller era to put up to buy catalogue, To be honest I would be mad also if a so called friend of mine were to do something like that to me, but that's the way the business goes and Michael Jackson is a business man. dont go bashing on Paul, because he is just being human. For instance i write poetry and I cherish it more than anything in the world and if someone somehow could just come and buy my poetry from my company and there was nothing i could do about it then.. I would be pretty furious

If your life fortunes were just token away from you, and there was nothing you could do about it, then I am pretty sure you would be upset to.. well thats if your human and not struck by stardom and biased

But anyway the smart thing for paul to do was try to work out an agreement with Michael instead of going out on all those interviews talking about how Michael backstabbed him or what not, that was the dumbiest move, the smart thing to do was to negoitated a Part Ownership plan.

UGHHH... how did this topic come up, were u just sitting there bored? cause i havent heard anything lately from paul :-o

mjj_jdj I agree with you there...

Good points you raised there and before we go around bashing Paul we have to look at the ethics. But one thing that I can't understand is that for the catalogue to be available for purchasing and whereby people bid and the highest bidder (in this case Michael) gets to purchase it doesn't that mean that Paul who owned it made it available.

Taking your xample of poetry...if you did not want to sell it make it not available for purchasing...where is the law that says NO YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT AVAILABLE...do you see what I am saying...or have I got it all wrong. Does anyone know the ins and outs of music rights etc.

thats because paul didnt own it

I can understand why Paul would feel bad about it all..Those songs were his, and someone that he never expected to take them, did. Not blaming MJ, but i just see why Paul would be mad...I think it's time he just lets it all go, though

its simple. Paul wasnt willing to put out the cash for the songs. Michael was. Paul lost because he didnt want to pay for them. No one is in the wrong here. Unless its Paul for bashing Michael afterwards.

If they meant as much to paul then he would of paid whatever he could for them. You know? Im pretty sure paul had enough money. even if he only had 50 million dollars he could of made it up fast and gotten alot of loans from banks to make this deal.

Whaa...? This is the first I've heard about this I'm behind on the times clearly...I don't get it ? How can you buy songs from another artist ? I'm totally lost here...besides, I always thought Mike and Paul were friends ?! I guess not !

when people write songs.. most of the time they sell the rights to the songs. and all those songs they sold get put into a "catalog". Paul didnt own the rights to the songs and the catalog was up for sell. And Paul didnt want to dish out the money for it and michael bought it.

michael's songs are all in one catalog too. his publishing company i think for his song rights is called mijac music. I could be wrong but in his album credits they mostly say mijac music. So if some how michael's catalog went up for sell... Someone could buy rights to all his songs.and then they get all the royalities from it.

Its kind of funny because Paul is the one who told michael about buying music catalogs and got michael into it. and then he bought pauls songs. Ha. :)) kind of shady but its business.
