What do you guys think about Moonwalker? I've heard plenty of fans say how his acting is crap--but that's actually my favorite acting performance of his. He [i]really[/i] convinced me he was Michael Jackson, the international superstar, and now superhero.

I've got it on the mind because I tuned into soundtracks on this AOL radio thing and some random symphony was playing, and it credited it to the movie "Moonwalker" and I was like, wha? But, as it turns out, it was that pretty instrumental music we here throughout and towards the end, especially.

Personally, I love the movie. I wish it had been released in theaters, as was intended. (And that I had been around to see it) My only complaint is how they have all this stuff featuring the [i]real[/i] Michael Jackson, about his life, etc. then they have this fictional storyline stuck in the middle. To me, it seems like they would have done everything else separate, and made the Smooth Criminal plot a movie unto it's own.

But it's still one of my favorites, and an ingenius idea, I think. (referring to the Smooth Criminal video)

Heeey... maybe.... hmm. I need to watch it again, but maybe all the beginning stuff is just building up for the initial movie because he [i]is[/i] playing himself, afterall, but just with a twinge of magic. It makes sense if you really think about it, but, it still feels a bit awkward to me.

Anyway, I think I'm going to go watch that later tonight, I've been wanting to for a while now.

And--did anyone else notice this-- Michael's manager at the time was Frank Dileo, and the villian of the movie was named "Frankie Lideo"

P.S. Hey Josh -- is there anyway you could throw Moonwalker (the game) into the arcade by chance? That would be awesome!

I like it a little bit. I mean i don't really think that its a movie or anything. I think its alot of crap put together. ha not actual "crap" but alot of random things put together. Smooth Criminal is amazing and the dancing in it is awesome. I say his best music video.

I guess his acting was okay. If you play yourself then there isnt much to act.

I'm pretty sure he was playing himself. I thought his acting was good, but then again, I rented and watched Miss Castaway yesterday ... ... so pretty much any acting is good to me right now. I think his character wasn't has cheesy as in, say, MIIB, though.

 

I still think it should have gone to theaters!

Moonwalker is great. I saw it for the first time this year acually. LOL I love the part Michael turns into a car and flies over the people and Frank Lideo like Like "What the hell was that?!?! What is it?!?!"

 

I think the acuall movie should've been longer than it was though.

I first saw, not the whole Moonwalker tape, I've had that less than a year... but the long version of Smooth Criminal came on TV during one of those MJ days VH1 hosted when Invincible was coming out back in 2001. I was a new fan... I remember the part when he turned into a car, but somehow I had missed what happened, and I though Michael had gotten run over and was like "WHAT THE...?"

Hmmm yeah I remember seeing it in the cinema actually, when I was twelve or so. Then I liked everything, well when you are twelve you do not have much of a movie taste, now I only skip to the music parts on the DVD mostly...

I skip the music parts too. But I have to watch Man in the Mirror LOL. And then I watch da movie

i dunno, moonwalker was ok. but i think mike should stick 2 what hes good at. i mean my fave part of the film was the smooth criminal vid. that is what hes good at, acting isnt 1 of his strong points. but i dunno, mayb if he got some practice in, he could b good at it.

He seems to act better when performing songs and in music videos than in film parts where hes meantt to act anyway

I don't think Moonwalker would get a lot of good recognition from the public. Maybe only MJ fans, but his way of acting, isn't really the way most movies are now, and a lot of people would come to just make fun of him. People might be impressed only by the outstanding Smooth Criminal video, but that's probably it. But of course MJ fans will get a kick of it, but that's not enough to make Michael No. 1 again.

if there was a version of the game that would work in the arcade then i would. I've looked for it but i couldnt find it.

I did have the rom version posted in the downloads though
