Sometimes with MJ's bigger hits like Thriller, Beat It, and Billie Jean which all have such iconic videos.... I hear the song, and I don't feel like I can really love the song for the song itself because all I can ever think of is the video. Does anybody else have this problem?

 

Same thing with You Are Not Alone. Everytime I hear that song I think about Michael and his mushroom haircut, LOL. It's a wonderful song, one of my favs... but I just feel like I'd be able to love it more if I had never seen that damned haircut!

Can't really share your opinion with the YANA one. Listening to the song seems fine to me, but not the video, no way

also the "you rock my world" video was kinda lame and cheesy (fight scene) so was awesome though.

For my dance classes for school we had to master all of michael jackson's video choregraphy to pass the class and I mastered it all done to the singing to the moves!!!! so now everytime i hear some of his songs like thriller and beat it and billie jean and rock with you I end up dancing to it!!!!!!

I like his haircut for that time it fit him he was cute to me I also love that song "You Are Not Alone". I love his songs even more when I see the video's so I don't feel the same as you do MJzLovely1...

It's not that I don't like the songs, the ones I mention are some of my very favorites... it's just that I see the video playing in my head when I hear them, so I have trouble looking at the song for the song it really is, I see it as the song/video concept it is..
