After initially claiming he was "exhausted", the real reason for Eminem's cancellation of his European tour has been revealed. He is in rehab for addiction to sleeping pills.

 

The rapper's spokespeople have released a statement saying: "Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, is in the hospital under doctor's care.

 

"He is being treated for dependency on sleep medication."

 

There is no word on when Eminem is due out of the facility."

 

Sources close to the MC say that he is tired of the controversial persona he has cultivated.

 

They say he is keen to step away from the spotlight to focus on his daughter and producing other acts.

 

The abrupt cancellation of Eminem's European tour was announced last week.

Well, i think he deserves to be in rehab..after all, he has made fun of Michael and there is no excuse in that!!...i think that while he is n rehab that he needs to not only learn to stay off of those pills but to think about the hurt he has caused to MJ fans..

It's not all about MJ now LOL. But He has been through a lot in his life including being beaten into a concusion by a bully as a child. And his mother wasn't any easier on him either. So he could have low self esteem too. The best thing FOR him to do is give his daughter(s) the childhood he didn't have. He's still a learning child.

Yeah..i guess i should let back on him, a little..especially after i saw 8Mile, but that made me soooo mad when he made fun of Michael in his songs and that video "Just Lose It"...

i dont think he has low self esteem. he cant really if hes able 2 express himself infront of millions of people the way he does. just because he was picked on as a kid does not give him the right 2 do the same thing now

I saying he has low self esteem judging on what his lyrics are about- which express himself as making fun someone. People who pick on someone have either been picked themselves or just have a low self esteem. People talk about other people sometimes to make themselves feel better.

I was watching a music channel about a week ago and that video came on, so i dont think they did actually get rid of it!!

of he needs help to get off them then he shuld be in rehab. i can see y ppl here dnt like him but not all his songs r rippin mike so i fink some ppl shuld lay off him a bit, but i do admit the lose it 1 was bad.

I've no respect for M&M (note use of those wee chocolate guys spelling coz we all know he knicked it from them).

 

Addicted to sleeping pills, hhhmmm, for a man who endorses the use of ecstasy among kids deserves all he gets. I don't condemn drug use whatsoever, just people who demonstrate its use in front of minors.

 

Doesnt M&M realise the effects of ecstasy use? Of course he's gonna be fooked, and a little thirsty, with the occassional nosebleed and paranoia...depression...how long have you got?
