MICHAEL JACKSON has been named the top newsmaker for 2005 by US TV show ACCESS HOLLYWOOD.

 

The 47-year-old BAD singer dominated the news during the first half of the year as he battled his way through a child molestation trial, from which he emerged victorious.

 

And despite moving to Bahrain, the pop icon still attracts news coverage in the US, even beating out BRAD PITT, JENNIFER ANISTON and ANGELINA JOLIE.

i think that it depends on the publicity. Marrying lisa marie is good publicity. All the weird strange stuff isnt i think he must of learned this by now too.

 

Being accused of child molestation (which is why he was top news maker) really isnt good publicity.

Actually most people believe the marriage to Lisa Marie was a strange antic, at least most of the non-fans I know do. I don't, but that's beyond the point...

 

Although his recent publicity was negatice, people are still interested in Michael. I think he could use that interest to try and change the tone of his image, make it more positive. Now that they're paying attention to what he's doing, he could do something really great -- in the way of charity efforts, music, etc that people will check out because, hey, they're interested and maybe they'll start to see the other side.

 

If anything, I think the molestation trial should have brought to light how ridiculous the idea that he actually did that was. I'm not sure if that's how the public sees it... but the public is pretty weird sometimes.

 

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I think all publicity is essentially good because you can use the attention from the bad to change their minds, maybe, and switch the focus. I don't know. I can't explain the way I think, 'tis too bizarre.
