BERLIN (Reuters) - Michael Jackson has no immediate plans to move to Berlin and is trying to recuperate after being acquitted of child sex abuses charges in his four-month trial, his father Joe said on Friday.

 

Several German newspapers had reported Jackson was planning to move to Berlin because he was fond of Berlin's zoo, the beauty of nearby Potsdam and supportive European fans.

 

"There are no serious plans that I know of," Joe Jackson told journalists after meeting Berlin's mayor Klaus Wowereit.

 

"Michael looks for his own home and I can't take that decision for him," he said, adding, however, a Berlin move was one of several possibilities.

 

Wowereit dismissed the plans as speculation. "But we can keep on dreaming," he said.

 

Joe Jackson was commenting prior to his 76th birthday party at a Berlin hotel.

 

Michael announced on his official Web site on Thursday that he would not join the birthday celebrations with his family and 1,000 paying fans.

 

"Michael is trying to recuperate from the bad circumstances he went through", his father said.

 

Last month, a court in California acquitted the 46-year-old star of the child sex abuse charges that had threatened to destroy his career and send him to prison for up to two decades.

 

Janet and La Toya Jackson were also unlikely to attend, the event promoters said in a statement.

 

Of Joe's children, only Jermaine had arrived in Berlin by midday on Friday.

LOL its quite a way from american to germany though and his kids are gonna have friends etc in the US and his whole life in in America so it would take a lot to get him to move to Berlin.
