i think he may have in the beginning. Think about it she was there with him through all of his skin treatments so she knew the truth and she witnessed the truth. He may have thought that she would understand it more than anyone else. but then he realized who she really is and saw that she wasn't right and he divorced her and had custody of the kids because he was making more money and he can offer those kids practically everything and anything they would ever want.

I am not that big on those laws but I do know that once the kids turn 14 they get to choose when they want to see the other parent and they also get to chose who they want to live with.
