Lego Worlds – First Impressions – GamePlay

I decided to give the new Lego Worlds game a try. Lego Worlds is a new early access open sandbox game very similar to Minecraft, only with LEGOS.

Definition from the sales page:

In a galaxy of procedural worlds made entirely from LEGO bricks, will you… EXPLORE environments filled with adventure, then alter them? DISCOVER secrets and treasures, then play with them? CREATE your own models, then make a world your own? In LEGO® Worlds, it’s up to you…

I must say, I do really like it, The graphics are nice, the sounds are cool, controls are easy (other than the camera control), and over all isn’t very buggy for an early access title. It could run better though. Alot of people with less powerful machines than I are complaining about low FPS, but mine stays high unless I’m flying around.

It really puts me back in the days when I’d sit alone in my room with my legos and just build stuff. I would say my 9 year old self, but I messed with legos late into my late teens, until eventually I became too lazy to get them out due to having to pick them all up again when I was done.

I haven’t gotten to the building part of the game. I messed with it a bit in the video, but that’s it. So, I can’t really comment on that, but the exploration and breaking stuff is pretty fun.

The only thing this game really lacks is multiplayer. There is alot of AI in the game, but no other human players. I’m not sure if they’ll add that at some point or not.

Also I HATE the third person view, which always makes a building game more ridiculously hard to build anything. AHH!

Currently the game is $15 USD on Steam, and worth every penny!
