In our Scottish news rag - the 'daily record', we had the headline in our entertainment section 'self proclaimed king of pop to play Hampden Park', after my danone actimel drink nearly came back up down my nose I realised it was Robbie Williams they were talking about!!!!! Since when was that git King Of Pop? King Of Pies more like.

What does it sound like on the victory tour? I thought Billie Jean sounded best live on the victory tour, as did Human Nature and Off The Wall. So what did Wanna Be Startin Something sound like? Does it have crappy synthesized 80's bass line sounds ala Shake Your Body from the same tour?

Thriller. The clothes, the music, the moves, the hype. Retro MJ all the way.

Westlife.... Another plastic pop creation that the UK music industry seems to pride itself on churning out year in year out. 'Queer eye for the straight guy'?, funny that as one of them is gay. That pretty boy look is terrible. I'd rather see MJ do something with Shane MacGowan, now there's a real Irish singer....check him out kids, or the Pogues.....bloody marvellous band.

The Bad Tour was 'live' though, if you know what I mean. It had the best setlist (European and US leg), best singing performance, best musicians and featured MJ when he looked at his best, apart from the 1984/85 era. If I were to rate most live tours in order including the Jacksons: 1. Bad Tour 2. Dangerous Tour 3. Victory Tour 4. HIStory Tour 5. Triumph Tour 6. Destiny Tour

Defo agree there with ye. Vinyl is better to EQ on a stereo than CD. Digital sound is to compressed and static sometimes. Example, Billie Jean on Special Edition Thriller is too digitised and hissy on the hi hats, and the bass drum sound has too much bottom end. Its been compressed and normalised so much that you struggle to get a happy medium in a club environment. The vinyl version of Billie Jean is like an old analogue tape, very smooth and warm sounding, lush, the drum sounds are totally different. Maybe Im being a bit of an anorak, but I say bring back vinyl. This remastering crap is always mince. This is the gospel according to Bobo.

I prefer the actual vinyl albums, sound lots more warmer than CD's. Got Thriller in mint condition too....we never had bonus tracks in my day!

Janet Jackson?............meh. In everybody's honest opinion, would she have even been successful had she not been a Jackson? To be honest I dont think so, dont get me wrong she has some belter tunes and she is very good looking, great dancer etc, but in the early days....nah man. Gimmie Rebbie any day!

A load of balls? there's two ways of looking at that statement! I'd like to see a diddy team win the World Cup. You cant beat the classics like Italy Vs Brazil or Argentina Vs Holland etc. but just for once I'd love to see someone like Egypt or China lift the trophy. There;s more chance of Scotland winning it than that happening though. If we or Rep Of Ireland qualify I'm booking my ticket to Germany.

Totally agree with you man, though the squad shouldnt be so selective, but I guess its down to individual merit. Holland are always a great team to watch in the finals for entertainment. Germany Vs Holland in 1990 was one of the best football matches I've ever seen. It wouldn't be the world cup without them. the Dutch and Scots always have a party at the international tournaments along with the Swedes and Irish. Anyone who can kick a ball straight and is Scottish would get a game for us, we do seem to be playing rather well of late though.

Do you think Holland are the team they used to be? Has Bergkamp given up international football now? Van Basten was my football hero as a kid, different class.

Would any of you support us if we qualify? It always ends in tears for us but we always have a good time at the world cup, everybody always wants to see Scotland see off the likes of Brazil, Argentina etc. We nearly drew with Brazil in the opening game of 1998. Poland I like also, their striker plays with Celtic, 'Magic' as we call him. Lets hope they go far too.

I asked the DJ in a club last week to play J5, he played 'Blame It On The Boogie'. Now, he didnt seem to think anything was wrong by doing that, so I insisted on telling him that he didnt play the J5 I requested but The Jacksons. Spent rest of the night explaining the difference much to the amusement of others in my company. Amatuers! The lot of them. Yes there does seem to be an influx in MJ radio play, cant argue, anything that keeps the usual dross from the airwaves gets my vote, coz its MJ its a bonus.

What do you mean Scotland lost to England?, we have not played England for about 5 or 6 years. They bet us at Hampden and we beat them at Wembley, though the jammy gits qualified for that tournament back then. I reckon Scotland could tan England at the moment though, we look pretty strong at the back now, new manager etc. Yes I support Scotland for obvious reasons, I also follow Republic Of Ireland, my second home. Sven will be for the chop. The 4-1 defeat from Denmark a few weeks ago fueled the downward spiral. As I said, only a bit of friendly banter between the Scots and English.

Well, now that the mighty Svens army of diddies have been crushed by Northern Ireland whats next for England? In the past 15 years I've never seen an England team look so crap, they dont deserve to qualify. I'd also like to congratulate Scotland on a triumphant win over Norway, Germany here we come....need to dig out the kilt. Same old story, qualify then get humped in the group stages from Peru or Costa Rica. If Republic Of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales or Scotland qualify I'll be very happy. You know its aonly a bit of friendly banter!
